UEFA To Investigate Neymar’s Transfer To PSG

The European Football Associations (UEFA) has said that they will ensure Neymar’s proposed move from Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain does not breach its Financial Fair Play policy.

Andrea Traverso, UEFA Chief Executive Director for financial and sustainability, made this known during an interview with Spanish news agency, La Agencia EFE on Monday.

Traverso however confirmed that UEFA has not received any complaint regarding the Brazilian’s possible move to the French capital.

Neymar has been a subject of transfer interest from PSG, who are believed to be ready to meet the 25-year-old’s €222m release clause.

Barca remain confident of keeping Neymar, but reports coming out of Spain on Monday suggest that the Barca star forward could be closing in on a deal to the French giants.

“UEFA want to make sure the deal, once officially done, fits in the Financial Fair Play policy and that, the rules of FFP will be respected.

“The potential impact of Neymar’s signing with PSG would produce effects for many years of the economy of the club.

“They have to prove that they have no losses of more than 30 million euros within three years,” Traverso said.

Javier Tebas, La Liga President, had last week threatened legal against Paris Saint-Germain over what he described as breach of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules to land Neymar’s signature.
