Ugwuja Bags Anambra State 2017 Security Support Officer Award

Mr Edwin Ugwuja, the head of operations of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Anambra state command was yesterday awarded the Anambra State Security Support Officer of 2017.

The award was presented to him at the launch of the state’s ‘Operation Udoka for Christmas’ held at Benin Park, Upper Iweka, Onitsha.

The certificate, signed by Gov Willie Obiano, states that the award was in recognition of Ugwuja’s ‘dedication, commitment and service towards the security of lives and property in Anambra state for the year 2017’.

DCC Ugwuja, who is also a deputy corps commandant, was the only recipient of the award from the NSCDC.

Before his posting to Anambra state, Ugwuja held many positions, including the chief security officer of the NSCDC Academy, Abuja; head, environmental protection board task force, Abuja, as well as the second in command, operations, FCT command of the corps.

Ugwuja has a bachelor of arts from the University of Jos, and a master of science from Nasarawa State University, Keffi. He attended a course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Zaria, and also undertook the Nigerian Intelligence Agency Officers’ Weapon Training Course; Arms Training Course, PTS, Kaduna, and Staff Officers’ Course, NSCDC, Academy, Abuja.
