An associate professor of law in the University of Jos (UNIJOS) Law Faculty, Benedicta Daudu, has been suspended by the institution following her involvement in examination malpractice.

Daudu was allegedly caught lifting already prepared answers from a sheet of paper during a Master’s degree in Research and Public Policy examinations.

The professor, who was a former Head Of Department (HOD) of Jurisprudence and International Law, had earlier been suspended as member of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption.

As part of the penalty for her misconduct, a source in the institution further disclosed that Daudu will forfeit the master’s programme.

“I can confirm to you that the Senate Disciplinary Committee found her guilty of the allegations, and has suspended her from the Masters programme for two semesters,” the source told PREMIUM TIMES.

“Also, the matter was referred to the Staff Disciplinary Committee which also suspended her from work. So she is no longer teaching.”
