‘Unlike Buhari, Jonathan Collapsed Data Tariff From N3, 000 To N1, 000’
The recent directive by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that some telecommunication operators should hike the cost of data subscriptions from December 1 has received grave condemnation.
Most recent is an attack on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration by former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri.
Omokri, via his Twitter account, compared a “clueless” Jonathan who collapsed the cost of mobile data subscription from ₦3k to ₦1k, to a Buhari-led government who would rather exert pressure on Nigerians by hiking data tariff in a bid to raise its revenue generation.

He went further to knock President Buhri, saying that the only thing the current administration would dare not increase is the minimum wage.
“Does anyone remember when GSM/Internet rate plans collapsed from ₦3k to ₦1k under ‘clueless’ Goodluck Jonathan? I need a witness. Please share and comment if you do remember. May God bless GEJ forever!,” Omokri tweeted.
“The only thing that won’t increase in Nigeria under President @mbuhari is minimum wage. Every other thing will increase. Mark my words!,” he said.
