UPDATED: Death Toll In Lagos Storey-Building Collapse Rises To 6

The number of people that died after a five-storey building collapsed at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State has now risen to 6.

The five-storey building had collapsed in the early hours of today, Tuesday resulting in the death of four persons initially.

It was learnt that another person has however, been rescued bringing the total number of rescued persons to seven.

It was also learnt that rescue operations by the National Emergency Management Agency, South West zone and Lagos State Fire Service are still ongoing, as there are still several others trapped in the building.

The spokesperson for NEMA, Ibrahim Faronloye, said that his team would not relent in their efforts until others still trapped in the collapsed building are rescued.
