Amaechi, Police Commissioner, Soldiers Invade Collation Centre, Beat-up Council Chairman

Tension remains high in Isiokpo, headquarters of Ilwerre Local Government Area, as thousands of the indigenes and residents besieged the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), over allegations that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, invaded the Local Government Collation Centre heavily armed soldiers and policemen.

Eyewitnesses claimed that Amaechi stormed the INEC Collation Centre with over 200 soldiers and was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police in charge of Election, Mr David.

After gaining access into the collation center forcefully, the soldiers and the Commissioner of Police forcefully allegedly drove away a crew of the African Independent Television (AIT), journalists, agents of political parties and observers.

The Commissioner of Police in charge of elections, Mr David beat up the Caretaker Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Mr Samuel Nwanosike, before dragging him on the floor.
