W/Cup Qualifier: Algeria Arrives Nigeria Thursday

The Fennecs of Algeria are expected to arrive Nigeria on Thursday, ahead of the Saturday’s crunch FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifying tie against the Super Eagles in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

A source in the North African nation was quoted by CompleteSports, saying that the Desert Warriors will fly to Nigeria two days before the clash, on a chartered plane.

“The team will leave Algeria at 9 GMT (10am Nigerian time) on Thursday and arrive in Nigeria in the evening,” the source said.

“They’re planning to take a direct flight to Uyo.”

Nigeria will host Algeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, with Gernot Rohr’s men looking to extend their lead at the top of Group B.

The Eagles had in October defeated the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Ndola to go top of their group, as Cameroun held Algeria to a one all draw in Algiers.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr expects a full-house on Monday, as intensive training is expected to commence from Tuesday.

“The players are expected in camp on Sunday evening (today) or latest Monday morning and hopefully we can start a serious training on Monday evening or Tuesday morning,” Assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf said.
