WAFU Cup: Ezenwa Named Best Goalkeeper, Despite Ghana Humiliation

Ikechukwu Ezenwa, captain of Nigeria’s home-based Eagles has been named the best goalkeeper of the 2017 West Africa Football Union (WAFU Cup) in Ghana despite conceding four goals in the final on Sunday.

Super Eagles Team B suffered a 4-1 humiliating loss to the host nation in the final match played at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Ezenwa who was at the goal for the Senior Eagles team when they played Cameroun in the World Cup Qualifiers, kept four clean sheets all through the tournament but conceded four goals in the final.

But the Ifeanyi Ubah FC goalkeeper was awarded with the Golden Glove for his impressive performances.

Ghana’s Stephen Sarfo emerged as the top scorer of the tournament. Sarfo scored a brace in the final to take his goal tally to four in the tournament.

Another Ghanian player, Twum Isaac, was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
