*Says Will Hold Funeral For The Death Of Common Sense In Nigeria

Nigerian playwright and Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has slammed Nigerians calling for his relocation since the election of Donal J. Trump as the United States President-elect.

Soyinka added that he will be holding a private funeral on January 20, the Donald Trump will be inaugurated, so as to mourn the death of common sense in Nigeria.

Nobel Laureate said this, Monday, while speaking during a media parley at Freedom Park in Lagos.

Soyinka wonders why Nigerians have taken destruction of his United States Green Card more seriously than the U.S. citizens.

“Why do Nigerians wail louder than the bereaved?,” he queried.

“I am embarrassed to occupy the same nation space as some imbeciles and morons. I am planning my Wolexit, which could be internal or external.

“On the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration, I will have a private funeral keep to mourn the death of Nigeria’s common sense. If the board agrees (because I do not like to be authoritarian) I will move the residency of my foundation out of the country,” he said.

It would be recalled that Professor Soyinka had promised to rip his green card apart if Trump wins the U.S elections.

He consequently threw away his US residency green card in fulfilment of the pledge.

“I have already done it, I have disengaged (from the United States). I have done what I said I would do,” the 82-year-old told AFP in Johannesburg.
