Students, Footballers Amongst 212 Nigerians Evacuated From Cyprus – Geoffery Onyeama

Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, says 212 nationals are returning home from Cyprus.

He made this known in a tweet on Saturday.

According to him, students, footballers and professionals were among the evacuees.

“@TurkishAirlines flight TK 4915 conveying 212 Nigerian evacuees from #Cyprus, has departed for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

“Some of the evacuees are Nigerian students from Cyprus, Nigerian professionals in Turkey and few Nigerian professional footballers,” Onyeama tweeted.

He added that they would be in the country today Saturday.

According to the evacuation protocol by the Covid-19 Presidential Task Force, they would be in self-isolation for 14 days in fulfilment of the public health protocol.
