Students Of ‘Unhygienic’ Health College Begs Gov Wike To Save Them From Flood

Students of the Rivers State College of Health Science, Management and Technology have appealed to the Rivers State Government to come to their rescue and address the lingering flood issue that is confronting the institution.

President of the Students Union Government of the institution, Comr. Igwe Thankgod Nlenya, told THE WHILSTLER that students of the institution have become prone to aquatic accidents and attacks as well as reoccurring malaria cases as a result of the flood.

He also lamented that students are unable to access some classrooms as the flood waters have covered the routes, making access difficult.

He said the situation would lead to scarcity of learning halls as the school resumes for full academic work.

Comrade Nlenya urged the governor to forgive the college if it had offended the State Government and help address the appalling situation.

He however appreciated the governor for the reopening of schools in Rivers State and expressed joy over the level of compliance by the students of the college to the directives of the State Government and the College management.

He called on the students of the institution who are yet to resume to do so in earnest.

Meanwhile, some students who also spoke to THE WHISTLER joined in appreciating the State Government for approving the reopening of schools.

A student from the Medical Imaging Technology Department, Bobari Ekiene, appreciated the governor for reopening of schools but appealed to him to look into the flooding challenge which does not tell well of the institution as a health college owned by the Rivers State Government and the first College of Health in the country.
