Super Eagles Drop Further In Latest FIFA Ranking

The Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped one place from 50th to 51st position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday.

Last month’s ranking saw the Eagles slide 9 places from 41st position despite its very impressive performance throughout the world cup qualification campaign.

The latest ranking also saw the Gernot Rohr-led side now number nine in Africa.

Africa’s other representatives at next year’s World Cup Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco are 23rd, 27th, 31st and 40th respectively.

On the global scene, world champions Germany Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Belgium all retained their positions as the top best teams in the world, according to the ranking.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 18 January 2018.
