Super Eagles Star, Ejuke Completes Sevilla Move

Sevilla have confirmed the signing of Super Eagles star, Chidera Ejuke on a free transfer ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Ejuke signed a three-year deal with the Spanish club after his contract with Russian giants, CSKA Moscow expired at the end of the season.

He spent the just-concluded season on loan at Belgian club Royal Antwerp, where he scored five goals and recorded six assists in 39 appearances.

Sevilla confirmed his arrival in a statement on their website on Monday afternoon.

The statement read: “Sevilla FC has reached an agreement with the Nigerian footballer Chidera Ejuke to become a new player for the Nervionense team, joining García Pimienta’s squad as a free agent and signing for three seasons, until June 2027.

“Chidera Ejuke (January 2, 1998) was born in Zaria, Nigeria, is 176 centimetres tall, is right-footed and acts mainly as a left winger, and can also do so on the right side and in the last offensive section.”

Ejuke is an explosive winger blessed with skills and impressive ability to beat his marker. He will be hoping to rediscover the form that made him become a revelation at CSKA Moscow which led to his call-up to the Super Eagles.

He made his Super Eagles debut in 2020 in a 1-1 draw against Tunisia under Gernot Rohr.

He has represented Nigeria eight times and he will be targeting a return to the Super Eagles with impressive performances for Sevilla.

Meanwhile, Sevilla will also be hoping he can hit the ground running in Spain as soon as possible to help the club improve on their poor performances in La Liga last season.

The seven-time Europa League winners missed out on European qualification after finishing 14th in the league with three different coaches.
