A major talking point from the announcement is the absence of defender Ashleigh Plumptre, who was not included in the final squad.
Nigeria heads into the competition as the most successful team in the history of African women’s football, having won the WAFCON title in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2024.
The selected players are:
Goalkeepers: Chiamaka Nnadozie, Comfort Erhabor, Fatima Oloko.
Defenders: Osinachi Ohale, Oluwatosin Demehin, Michelle Alozie, Rofiat Imuran, Shukurat Oladipo, Glory Ogbonna.
