Super Falcons Coach Names Final Squad For Women’s AFCON

Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby has named her 21-player squad for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, to be played in Ghana.

Director of Communications, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire, named the strong squad during a press conference in Abuja.

“The eight-time champions are presently at Sol Beni in Abidjan, which is the academy of 1998 African champions ASEC Mimosas FC, for an eight-day final camping programme.

“They will depart for Ghana on Wednesday, Nov. 14,’’ Olajire said.

Falcons have been drawn into Group B and will take on long-time rivals South- Africa on November 18, before matches Zambia and Kenya in Cape Coast.

Hosts Ghana, Algeria, Mali and Cameroon will battle things out in Group A in Accra.

The top three teams at the competition will qualify for the 2019 Women’s World Cup to be played in France.

The competition kicks off on November 17.
