Super TV CEO’s Murder: Suspect Not Seen In School Since COVID-19 Lockdown – UNILAG Lecturer

A senior lecturer at the Mass Communications Department of the University of Lagos, Dr. Bunmi Ajibade, said an undergraduate accused of killing Super TV boss, Usifo Ataga, was last seen on campus before the COVID-19 lockdown.

Chidinma Ojukwu, 21, had confessed to stabbing Ataga to death in a short-term apartment in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Ojukwu’s alleged romantic relationship with the 50-year-old was brought to the public after she allegedly killed him during an altercation.

Speaking on the incident, Ajayi said an inquiry into the academic activities of the UNILAG undergraduate showed that the “last time she came to school was before Covid-19 lockdown”.

The lecturer said, “She has never written 300 Level exams with her cohorts.

“She has never stepped her feet on the soil of UNILAG since the commencement of this semester early last month. Yet, she was arrested in her father’s house,” she said.

Ajayi, who is a coordinator of part time programme at the department, also berated her the girl’s parents for their alleged insensitivity toward the lifestyle of their daughter, calling on all parents to pray for and monitor their children.

“Were the parents sensitive enough to discover her truancy in school? Did they monitor her progress in school if they suspected something is amiss? How come they were apparently neglected that this calamity came upon them suddenly? Many questions are begging for answers,” she said.

The lecturer further disclosed that there were a lot of “evil” going on in tertiary institutions across the country.

She said, “Drugs, alcohol and s*x have become the order of the day among adolescents”.
