His father, Sylvester Oromoni Snr, had said that his son died from injuries he sustained during the assault which was allegedly perpetrated by five of his colleagues who wanted to initiate him into cultism.

Photos and videos from the scene showed the protesters dressed in black and holding different banners and placards with pictures of the late Sylvester on them, while they spoke on the issue.

“This is not a school, this is where they put criminals, they smoke in this school, students smoke in this school. They do all manner of things,” one of the protesters who didn’t identify herself said.

Another protester could be heard in the background of the video calling for the sacking of all members of staff of the school.
