Nigeria’s Population Hits 201m As UN Says Birth Control Remains Low

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) says Nigeria’s population has hit a new high of 201 million. In its 2019 state of the world population report published on its website noted that the country’s growth rate has been at an average of 2.6 percent from 2010 to 2019 with the fertility rate among Nigerian women dropping from 6.4 in 1969 to 5.3 in 2019.
