Taraba Killings: ‘Was Buhari Elected To Reduce Nigeria’s Population?’

Following the reported death of 30 people after some suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked a community in Taraba, Reno Omokri has wondered if President Muhammadu Buhari was voted to reduce Nigeria’s population.

Recall that the suspected herdsmen were said to have attacked Jandeikyula village in Wukari Local Government Area of the state, killing several persons and razing houses in the village.

Reacting to the attack that occurred at about 7 p.m. on Thursday, Omokri, who is an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, wondered if the country can survive the herdsmen killings beyond 2019.

“Yesterday, 53 people were killed in Taraba, Benue and Zamfara. The worth of human lives in Nigeria has been so devalued under Buhari. Was Buhari was elected to reduce our population. Is that the change we voted for? Can we survive this beyond 2019? Or do we want to live in peace?” he queried in a tweet.

The police in Taraba has confirmed the attack but said the casualty figure remains sketchy.
