Terrorists Plan Mali-Style Attack On Hotels In Nigeria – U.S.

On November 20, suspected Islamists laid siege to the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako, Mali before troops stormed the scene leaving over 20 dead and 80 people released.

The embassy in a brief advisory for US citizens on Friday, said it had no further information regarding the timing or method of any planned attacks.

“The US Mission advises all US citizens to be vigilant when at hotels and around areas frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers … locations where large crowds may gather; and government facilities,” the statement said.

The U.S. State Department had on November 23 in a global travel alert listed Boko Haram among groups that it said, “continue to plan terrorist attacks in multiple regions”.
