Three Days After Abduction, PUNCH Journalist, Nnodim Regains Freedom

A Journalist with THE PUNCH, Okechukuwu Nnodim who was kidnapped on Wednesday by unknown gunmen has regained his freedom.

Nnodim was freed on Saturday night according to sources closed to the family.

It was not clear if a ransom was paid to secure his release.

His abductors had set a deadline of 1pm on Thursday for the payment of a N10m ransom to secure his release.

Nnodim, a Business correspondent with THE PUNCH was kidnapped on Wednesday night at his residence in Kubwa.

The abductors had also abducted two teenage boys, who are sons to the victim’s neighbour.

THE WHISTLER had reported that the abductors established contact with the families of the victims, 24 hours after their abduction, demanding that the sum of N10m be paid for their release.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command had immediately he was kidnapped launched a manhunt to secure his rescue.
