Tinubu In Kano, Meets Ulamas

National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC ), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu ,(Jagaban) was in Kano on Friday for the wedding reception but used the occasion to visit several Islamic scholars in the city.

Tinubu was in company with a former Interim Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande , former Chairman of Economic Financial Crime Commission ( EFCC) Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu and other notable members of APC, to attend the wedding reception organized for the daughter of an Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Uthman, the Chief Imam of Masjid-Al-Sahaba, held at the Hunaisa Muhammad Bin Uthman Mosque.

After the reception, Tinubu visited the residences of several notable Ulamas, including Sheikh Abdulwahab Abdallah, Sheikh Ibrahim Shehu Mai Ula and Sheikh Abdulgafar Kabara.

The Ulamas all spoke highly of him and promised to support him if he comes out to run for presidency in 2023.

He visited the Ulamas after paying a visit to his long standing friend, Alhaji Yusuf Alli.

While departing the city Friday night, reporters at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport asked him if he came on a campaign for 2023.

But the Jagaban replied that he did not
come to Kano for politics.

He said he was in the city to honour a friend and attend a wedding.

Tinubu earlier commended Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for being a prominent voice for the unity of the country and for executing several developmental projects in the state.

“From airport to this place I have seen so many developmental projects that add many positive things to the state.

“We are elated by your hardwork and commitment towards developing the state. This is commendable. I urge you to continue developing the state, we all have faith in you and your patriotic posture,” Tinubu told the governor.
