Tinubu, Oyetola, Aregbesola Meet In Akande’s House

The National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola today met behind closed doors at the residence of former Governor Bisi Akande in Ila Orangun in Osun State.

There are speculations that the meeting was held to reconcile Oyetola and his former boss, Aregbesola who are at loggerheads over some issues.

The fight between the governor and his predecessor became very prominent last week when the duo said they would hold parallel anniversary on the same day, November 27. Aregbesola eventually postponed his visit to the state.

But the minister announced on his Twitter handle on Thursday that he had arrived in Osun State with entourage from the Ministry of Interior to commence meeting with different stakeholders in the state as directed by President Muhamadu Buhari following the #EndSARS violence.

Aregbesola had tweeted, “Our entourage paid a courtesy visit to our leader and father, Baba Bisi Akande, alongside Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola in Ila Orangun. Baba advised us on #Endsars, insecurity amongst other issues!”

A former Commissioner for Information during Aregbesola’s tenure, Lani Baderinwa, who is the media aide to Akande told journalists that although the four leaders of the APC met, there was no fight between Oyetola and the minister.

Baderinwa said, ” The former governor of Osun who is now the Minister of Interior was here as part of civic engagements as directed by the President not too long ago. He could not have done it alone, he has to come with the current governor ( Oyetola). Whatever is the crux of their discussion is not opened to me but I know they are inside.

” Incidentally, Asiwaju as usual who comes around randomly without anybody knowing he was around happened to be here today too that was exactly what happened. We joined them at the meeting and I believe that as the national leader of the party, he has a stake in the whole scenario therefore, there was nothing unusual about him.

“I’m not aware of any problem between the two of them ever since. It has always been speculations in the media that they are at loggerheads with each other. To the best of my own understanding, I did not have such information and there’s little or nothing to it. There is no way I would have come to speculate with people who are saying that they are at logger heads with each other.”
