Tinubu Should Not Interfare In Edo Crisis, PDP Urges APC Leader To Concentrate On ‘Epileptic’ Presidential Ambition

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday attacked the former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu over his remark on Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.

Tinubu had, on Friday night took a dig at Obaseki and predicted a loss for the governor at the September 19th governorship poll in the state.

Tinubu maintained that the governor will be voted out due to his “woeful leadership”, adding that Obaseki, who promised to be a leader of all the citizens in the state, had denied 2/3 of the people of his state their right to representation in the state’s only legislative chamber.

He had also accused Obaseki of committing impeachable offences.

Edo State has been embroiled in political crises since Thursday when armed policemen invaded and took over the state House of Assembly.

But reacting to the remarks of the former Lagos governor, the PDP South South Vice Chairman, Chief Dan Orbih, called on Tinubu to focus on his “epileptic 2023 presidential ambition,” instead of wasting his time and energy on the political situation in the state.

Orbih advised Tinubu to let the state be and desist from accusing the governor.

He said: “Tinubu style of leadership and politics of South West Nigeria is not attractive to Edo people, the only person one can rightly refer to as a dictator is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“It does not make any sense for him to seat down in the comfort of his home drawing up grounds for impeachment for the elected governor of Edo State concerning the unfortunate incident in the State House of Assembly. Reading through his statement, I have come to the conclusion that certainly, he is not aware of the issues.

“It is proper to state here that, we only have ten house members who are legally representing their constituencies, I expect as a former governor of Lagos State, he should know better that once a proclamation is made the law does not allow for another.

“The other fourteen members stayed away on the instruction of the man who nominated them to be candidates of APC which is Adams Oshiomhole. And we want to advise Tinubu to concentrate his epileptic 2023 ambition,” Orbih added.
