A/Ibom Guber: Video Of Akpabio Criticising Buhari, Campaigning For Udom Resurfaces

A video of the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio heavily criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari has re-surfaced online.

In the video, the former senate minority leader was seen urging the Akwa Ibom people to vote for Emmanuel Udom, who was contesting for governorship at the time.

Akpabio, in the video, categorically said president Buhari will not empower the people, adding that the people should cast vote for Udom.

He said, “No federal government will come and give you commissioner in your state.

“Because none of you will go to federal government to go and struggle for minister. Akwa Ibom will still have a normal minister who will empower you. It is not Buhari that will empower you.

“Those who are looking for power by force are trying to use everything they can to confuse people, it will not work.

He urged the people to shout ‘tufikwa’ in Pidgin English which is translated to mean “God forbid”.

We are producing a member of the youth community as the next governor of Akwa Ibom state,” Akpabio said of Udom.

Recall that Akpabio had defected to the APC last year August, saying his move was to help salvage the country, as the PDP had no vision and the leadership is replete with arrogance.

He had said, “The country is at war and all the hands must be on deck to salvage the situation and not to aggravate it.

“As keepers of national emergency, everyone should put heads together. I decided to join to emancipate the people and provide succour for the people.’’

Upon his defection, the former governor had campaigned against the reelection of his estranged political godson, Udom as governor of the state.

“Akwa Ibom today is 98% for APC. It is not about me but God. Because you people are praying to God to save Akwa Ibom from the misrule of the PDP. We shall continue like this until victory is ours in 2019.

“Even the blind man can see already that the APC will win convincingly at the centre, in the state and at the House of Assembly,” he had said on one occasion.
