Tompolo Replies Avengers, RNDA ‘I’m Not Behind Pipeline Bombings’

Ex-militant leader and fugitive, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, have responded to reports that he is behind the bombings of pipelines in the Niger Delta region.

The Reformed Niger Delta Avengers, RNDA and the Niger Delta Avengers had fingered Tompolo in the bombings of the pipelines.

Tompolo, in a statement by his Media Consultant, Mr. Paul Bebenimibo, described the allegation as a false, wicked and malicious blackmail.

Tompolo warned against associating him and his followers with mischievous elements just as the RNDA described as “untenable and selfishly motivated” the decision of the NDA to pull out of the ceasefire with the Federal Government and resume fresh attacks in the region, tagged ‘Operation Red Economy’.

The statement read, “The attention of Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, the Ibe-Ebidouwei of Ijaw nation, has been drawn to statements by the NDA and the RNDA, accusing him of working with the Federal Government of Nigeria, thereby maligning the region on one hand, and working against the FG as the brains behind the planned attack on oil facilities in the region, on the other hand.

“Ordinarily, we would have ignored these allegations by the so-called NDA and the RNDA because they are not new tactics by them to bring Tompolo’s name to whatever thing that happens in the region because of his legal battle with the government. Let it be stated at this point that Tompolo is not the only person having legal issues with the present government.

“Let us also state here that these accusations do not take away the fact that our dear country is at a crossroad. Eminent Nigerians have repeatedly said in recent times that Nigeria has never been divided like this since her independence in 1960. It is our sincere advice to the government to urgently address the issues that are trending in the country’s political space.
