Top Boko Haram Commander, 4 Wives Surrender To Troops

A high profile Boko Haram Commander has surrendered himself and his four wives to troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, the Defence Headquarters has said.

Defence Spokesman, John Enenche, stated this on Thursday while giving a general update on armed forces of Nigeria operations from 17 – 23 September 2020.

Enenche did not disclose the identity of the commander or the name of any of the wives or the state where they surrendered.

He only said the air and ground operations by troops that led to their surrender were conducted at different locations in Borno, Yobe, Taraba and Adamawa States.

The defence Spokesman said: “troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE conducted series of offensive air and ground operations on terrorists’ enclaves at different locations in Borno, Yobe, Taraba and Adamawa States.

“Notably, a high profile BHT commander, surrendered with 4 of his wives to own troops.”

According to him, the operations also led to the arrest of one Boko Haram fighter at Kamuya in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State and 9 other criminals in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Enenche further disclosed that caches of arms and ammunition as well as equipment and motorcycles were also recovered.
