Toyin Abraham : Do Not Pit Me Against Funke Akindele, I Am Not NCDC Ambassador

The African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards Best Actress in Drama winner, Toyin Abraham has reacted to social media insinuations that she had replaced Funke Akindele as an ambassador of the Nigerian Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC) following her appearance in a viral Covid -19 video.

Abraham said the public was trying to suggest wrongly, that she had been used to replaced her colleague Funke Akindele who was recently arrested and prosecuted for violating the social distancing order by the Lagos Government.

The NCDC had also debunked stories that it hired Akindele as an ambassador, saying it did not have any brand ambassador.

Debunking the speculation, the actress said on her Instagram page on Friday that she had not been hired as an ambassador for NCDC, stressing that she had only shown support for the campaign against Covid-19

“It has just being brought to my attention that blogs are reporting that I am now NCDC Ambassador.

“Implying that I have been used to replace a senior colleague. That line of thought necessitate I put this out.

“I am not an ambassador to NCDC, I do not like the narrative that t am trying to take advantage of a bad situation please
I support the campaign against Covid-19.

“I appeared on the video campaign against the pandemic but please let’s not drag anyone down. Thank you.” She wrote.
