Train Crushes Man To Death In Ikeja
A yet-to-be-identified man was killed on Monday after being struck by a moving train around the Ikeja area of Lagos State.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred in the early hours of the day.
Confirming the incident, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), stated that the agency received a distress call at 8:28 a.m.
“The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, in response to distress calls via the 767/112 Toll-Free lines at 0828hrs, and activated the Eagle Response Team from Cappa Base,” Oke-Osanyintolu said in a statement.
“On arrival of the Eagle response team at the incident scene by 0902hrs, LRT discovered the body of an adult male laying dead on the railway track.
“Further investigations by the Eagle Response Team revealed that the adult male was reportedly hit by a moving train in the early hours of the day,” he added.

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency’s response team recovered the body, bagged it, and handed it over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for transport to the morgue.
The incident comes less than two weeks after a 50-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel, was tragically killed by a moving train near the Arena Shopping Mall in the Oshodi area.
