Transcorp Appoints UBA Marketing Chief As New CEO

The Group Head, Marketing of United Bank for Africa, one of Nigeria’s leading banks, Dupe Olusola has been appointed the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Transcorp Group’s subsidiary- Transcorp Hotels Plc.

The development was disclosed Wednesday, 12 February 2020, in a publication by Transcorp on the website of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, where the company announced 6 significant appointments to its board and executive management, which will take effect from March 25, 2020.

“Dupe Olusola has been appointed as the MD/CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, effective from March 25, 2020.

“She is currently the Group Head, Marketing at United Bank for Africa Plc.

“She has 21 years of corporate experience.” The statement reads in part.

The company also disclosed that Owen Omogiafo has been appointed the President /Group CEO following the retirement of Valentine Ozigbo who intends to pursue a career in the public service.

Other notable appointments were the appointment of Helen Iwuchukwu as an Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of the company.

Christopher Ezeafulukwe as the MD/CEO of the Group’s subsidiary, Transcorp Power Ltd.

Okaima Ohizua was also appointed the Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer of Transcorp Power Ltd.

The retiring President /Group CEO, Ozigbo was appointed as a Non-Executive Director.

Reacting to the appointment, the Chairman Transcorp Group Heirs Holdings, Tony O. Elumelu, expressed confidence that the new appointments will strengthen the company’s vision to nurture talents.

Transcorp is a listed industrial holding company with subsidiaries including Transcorp Power and Transcorp Hotel.
