TRCN Says Nigerian Teachers Must Sit For Exams To End Quackery

The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) has said in a bid to end quackery in the Nigerian teaching profession, teachers should sit for its Professional Qualifications Examinations, PQE.

The Council’s Registrar, Josiah Ajiboye said this at a recent media briefing.

TRCN disclosed that 77,827 candidates have registered for the Council’s December Diet Professional Qualifications Examinations, PQE.

Ajiboye said the deadline for the registration of the exams is December 31st.

“The 31st December Deadline was given by the National Council on Education and it was reaffirmed in Kano, Port-Harcourt and Abuja, it was re-emphasized, we are standing by the deadline of December 31st to end quackery in the teaching profession in Nigeria,” Ajiboye said.

He added that the personalized teacher’s exams would be conducted at 47 Computer Based Test Centres.

In his words, “Lagos State recorded highest numbers of candidates with a total number of 8,223 and Oyo State 5,599 while Sokoto State has the least with only 360 candidates.”
