It struck out the petition filed by Alliance for Democracy AD and the United People’s Congress, against Diri’s victory at the November 19, 2019 election.

Recall that Diri was enthroned as governor after a Supreme Court judgment nullified the victory of David Lyon, of the All Progressives Congress’s candidate.

Justice S.M. Owoduni, a member of the tribunal panel, held that the separate allegations of certificate forgery against Diri’s deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, among others, were unprovable and as such, lacking in merit, Punch reports.

Furthermore, a third petitioner, Vijah Opuama, candidate of the Liberation Movement (LM), also urged the tribunal to set aside the poll.

But the panel quashed it.
