Trigger Happy Policeman Kills Corper In Abuja

A serving youth corps member, Miss Linda Nkechi Igwetu, was shot dead by a trigger happy policeman in Abuja at about 3am on Thursday.

According to information posted by Sega L’eveilleur on Twitter, the late Igwetu was returning from work with other colleagues when the policeman shot at their car and the deceased was hit.

“We lost Miss Linda Nkechi Igwetu, a youth corper serving in Abuja to yet another avoidable impunity of Police earlier this morning. A police Officer shot at their car while returning from work and she bled to death. Our lawyers are with the next of kin & the shooter at station,” L’éveilleur tweeted at (@segalink.

The late Igwetu was shot at the checkpoint immediately after Ceddi Plaza by a police officer identified as Benjamin Peters, who is already in custody.

“The bullet hit Angela on her side, by the midriff and she began losing blood in the open roof vehicle.”

L’eveilleur disclosed that despite being rushed to the Garki hospital, the medical personnel refused attending to her insisting on a police report despite the fact that the police officers were present, stressing that “while the deliberation was ongoing, Angela bled to death.”

L’eveilleur further stated that the late Igwetu was meant to have passed out tomorrow from her NYSC program from her primary assignment positing at Outsource Global Company, Mabushi.

He explained further that the Legal team @citizens_Gavel are awaiting the police report on the incident and have initiated a petition to the commissioner of police FCT and the Force Headquarters on the incident while preparing for a legal suit on the matter on behalf of the family at no cost.
