Truck Crashes Near Anambra Gov’t House

A truck with registration number NSH146XJ, Monday, crashed into a gutter very close to the Government House in Awka, Anambra State. Eye witnesses say the accident occurred at about 6.46pm.

The sector public education officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, RC Pascal Anigbo, told newsmen in Awka, Tuesday, that, “The driver of the truck was reported to have lost control of the vehicle as a result of stiff tyres, preventing it from moving while on motion. It was a mechanical deficiency. Two male adults were involved in the crash. No injury and no death recorded. The truck was eventually towed to safety.”

Meanwhile, the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, has reiterated the importance of ensuring that vehicles, especially articulated vehicles, are checked and serviced regularly by their owners and drivers before embarking on any trip. According to him, all vehicles plying highways must be roadworthy in order to forestall any form of breakdown and avoidable road traffic crashes.
