Truck Crushes Car In Osun, One Dead

A young woman on Friday lost her life in a road accident as a truck collided with a Toyota Corolla in Osun State.

Our correspondent gathered that the accident occurred at Ikire, the headquarters of the Irewole Local Government Area of the state.

Three children were also reportedly injured in the accident.

Eyewitnesses said the accident was caused by over speeding as the driver of the truck lost control .

The Sector Public Education Officer of Osun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, Agnes Ogungbemi, confirmed the autocrash.

Ogungbemi said the crash would have been averted if the vehicles were not over speeding.

Ogungbemi said speeding eventually led to the loss of control as the vehicles involved collided.

She said, “The three children who sustained minor injuries and shock were given first aid by the O’Ambulance team.

“Also, a woman injured in the accident was taken to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife by the FRSC Rescue Team. She was later confirmed dead by the doctor at the hospital.”
