The decision to remove Mr. Scaramucci, came at Mr. Kelly’s request, sources told the New York Times.

On July 21, 2017 Scaramucci, a New York financier, was named to serve as the White House Communications Director, a move that led to the departures of Sean Spicer, the former press secretary, and Reince Priebus, the president’s first chief of staff.

Spicer, who doubled as White House press secretary and Communications Director resigned after he vehemently disagreed with President Trump on hiring Scaramucci.
