President Donald Trump has nominated former official of the Justice Department Christopher Wray to be the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.

Trump made the announcement via his Twitter handle on Wednesday, coming just one day before former FBI Director James Comey, whom he fired last month, is set to testify in before the Senate.

“I will be nominating Christopher A. Wray, a man of impeccable credentials, to be the new Director of the FBI. Details to follow,” Trump tweeted.
