Trump To Iran: We Just Spent $2trn On Weapons, U.S Military ‘Biggest, Best In the World’

President Donald Trump has continued to caution Iran against retaliating the killing of its top military leader by United States forces.

Iran had said it has marked at least 35 U.S. targets for retaliatory attacks after the head of its elite Quds military force,  Qassem Soleimani, was killed in an air strike by the U.S. on Friday in Baghdad.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital point for the West and a large number of American destroyers and warships cross there … some 35 US targets in the region, as well as Tel Aviv, are within our reach,” said the commander of Iran’s guards in the southern province of Kerman, Gholamali Abuhamzeh.

But reacting to Abuhamzeh’s threat, Trump said the U.S. had just acquired weapons worth  $2 trillion for its military and would not hesitate to hit 52 Iranian targets if American citizens or assets are attacked by Iran.

“The United States just spent Two Trillion Dollars on Military Equipment. We are the biggest and by far the BEST in the World! If Iran attacks an American Base, or any American, we will be sending some of that brand new beautiful equipment their way…and without hesitation!”

Trump had earlier said the U.S. decided to “terminate” Soleimani “to stop a war.”

According to the U.S. president, Soleimani “was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel, but we caught him in the act and terminated him.”

Soleimani was also blamed by the U.S. Defense Department for the deaths of hundreds of Americans and recent attacks on coalition bases in Iraq.

The U.S asked its citizens in Iraq to leave the country immediately following Soleimani’s killing, while also asking its troops in the region to be on high alert.
