U.S Condemns Suicide Attack On IDP Camp In Borno

The United States Embassy in Nigeria has totally condemned the recent suicide attacks carried out by members of Boko Haram on the camp of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Dikwa community, Borno state.

Not less than 58 people were killed and about 78 others injured after suicide bombers detonated explosives at the IDP camp.

In a statement signed by the US Diplomatic Mission on Thursday, in Abuja, the U.S. government’s restated that it will continue to support Nigeria governments fight against terrorism.

The statement which expressed the American government’s deepest condolences to the families of the victims read, “The US Embassy condemns the reported suicide attacks on internally displaced persons in Dikwa town, Borno State that occurred on Feb. 9.

“The US remains committed to assisting internally displaced populations in North-Eastern Nigeria through humanitarian relief efforts.

“We will also continue to support the Nigerian government in its fight against terrorism.”
