U.S. Embassy Donates $100k Equipment to Civil Defence Corps

The U.S. Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) has donated equipment worth about $100, 000 to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ Borno State Command.

The equipment was donated to assist the NSCDC Borno Command in improving its administrative effectiveness in providing safety and security to the residents of Borno State.

The donated items consisted of a 40 kVA Generator, first aid kits and assorted electronic equipment.

A statement by the embassy in Abuja and made available to The WHISTLER said the NSCDC Commandant General, Muhammadu G. Abdullahi, officially commissioned the donated items to the Borno State Command.

INL Country Director James Jewett II stated that the U.S. Government is committed to assisting the security agencies in Nigeria in building their capacity to better serve the citizens of Nigeria.

“INL values the relationship we have developed with the NSCDC and we look to assist them further with training and equipment,” Jewett II said.
