Udoma, Fayemi, Onyeama ‘Incompetent’ Ministers In Buhari’s Govt – Agbakoba

Dr Olisa Agbakoba, a former NBA President, has said President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet is filled with a bunch of “incompetent” ministers.

Speaking on the agenda of the newly formed National Intervention Movement (NIM) on Thursday, Agbakoba said Dr Kayode Fayemi, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, has no business overseeing that ministry.

The human rights activist equally said Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma, is a complete misfit for the ministry.

Agbakoba said until Buhari “sacks his entire cabinet,” the current administration may never achieve a “system” that works for all.

He said it is due to the alleged incompetence on the part of the president’s cabinet members that the country has been lagging behind.

“How many ministers are actually competent to deliver on their ministries? For instance, the good friend of mine Dr. Kayode Fayemi has no competence to be minister of mines because that’s not his background.

“What is the competence of another good friend, a nice chap and a successful man, Udo Udoma (SAN), to be the minister of budget when he is a lawyer? So, the President should be called upon to dismantle his cabinet and pick the right people because the best guys are not there.

The maritime lawyer did not spare the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Godfrey Onyeama, in his onslaught.

“Another good friend Geoffrey Onyeama is an intellectual property lawyer. He has no competence to be a foreign minister, but he’s there. The federal cabinet lacks competence and that’s what’s causing our problem,” he said.
