“We will introduce Harper’s Law and impose an automatic life sentence on those who kill police officers, nurses and other emergency service personnel who are on duty,” he stated.

The development is based on the aftermath of a court case which gave 13 years imprisonment to a burglar who killed a police officer, Andrew Harper.

Harper’s wife, Lissie was displeased with the judgement and later took up a campaign against injustice on law enforcement agents.

That has been noted by the UK Government.

Johnson further noted Lassie’s efforts and assured that the Harper’s Law is the latest modification geared towards safeguarding law enforcement agents.

“I want to pay tribute to Lissie Harper for her extraordinary campaign on this issue following the appalling killing of her husband PC Andrew Harper,” Johnson stated.
