He floored other political heavyweights like Ifeanyi Uba, Andy Uba and Valentine Ozigbo.

The UK also acknowledged voter apathy during the election.

It observed logistic and deployment problems with INEC in the poll but the British High Commissioner, H.E. Catriona Laing, encouraged “ INEC and all stakeholders to continue improving the electoral system.

“We recognise that independent Nigerian voices have expressed concerns about the conduct of the electoral process, in particular around logistics, accreditation of voters, deployment of polling officials, and low voter turnout. The UK is encouraged by the use and transparency of INEC’s result viewing portal in the electoral process,” it said in a statement.

The United States government similarly applauded residents for conducting themselves in an orderly manner during the election.

It described the poll as a model which needs to be improved in subsequent elections.

“We look forward to continued improvements in the electoral process as the country heads into gubernatorial elections in Osun and Ekiti in 2022 and national elections in 2023,” it stated.
