UNIABUJA Bows To Students’ Protest, Shifts Examination Date

Days after its students engaged in protest at the school’s gate, the management of the University of Abuja has shifted the first semester examination date from February 15 to 22.

THE WHISTLER reported that the students had on February 1 besieged the school and demanded the opening of the portal for payment of school fees and extension of examination date among others.

They wanted the examination postponed till March 8.

The school, in a Facebook post on Friday, said that the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, had shifted the examination date by one week instead.

He said he took the decision to allow students to be well prepared.

“The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, has approved the extension of the commencement of the first semester examination of the 2019/2020 Academic Session.

” The exam which was initially slated for Monday 15th February 2021, will now commence on Monday 22nd February, 2021.

“The postponement is to allow students more time to prepare for their exams. However, the examination sequence as contained in the earlier published timetable remains unaltered.

“The course registration portal will be open for students’ registration till Friday 19th February 2021.”
