UNILORIN Speaks On COZA Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo’s Academic Records

The Senior Pastor of the Common of Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) has continued to make headlines ever since he was accused of rape by Mrs Busola Dakola, wife of Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo.

Busola had granted an interview where she opened up on how Fatoyinbo allegedly raped her twice as a teenager and took her virginity.

The scandal had led the COZA pastor to step down from mounting the church’s pulpit after protests were staged at the Abuja and Lagos branches of the church. The protesters had called on Fatoyinbo to step down to enable proper investigation into the rape allegations levelled against him.

As incidents and even more allegations continue to follow Busola’s rape charge against Fatoyinbo, the University of Ilorin where earlier reports claim he once attended, has spoken on the COZA pastor’s academic records.

Responding to an inquiry by Punch on if Fatoyinbo attended the university, the Director of Corporate Affairs of the institution, Mr Kunle Akogun, said the COZA pastor’s academic records were yet to be found in their registry.

“I have not got any feedback yet from our Academic Records Office. We have been checking, but we have not got anything on him, probably if we know the year he was in the university or the year he graduated or his course of study, that would make it easy for us to trace his record,” he told the newspaper.

Earlier reports had suggested that Fatoyinbo attended UNILORIN but was allegedly rusticated from the university due to his alleged involvement in cult activities.

In a 2013 sexual abuse allegation against Fayotinbo, Efe Walter had claimed she was advised that she risked losing her life if she exposed her alleged sexual relationship with the pastor’s . “I was told to hush because Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo had been a cultist in the past and could send people to shut me up.”

I think what a woman did or what happened to her regarding sexual relationship is inconsequential to a man who later married her, what counts is her morality after the marriage, so if you ask me,I will say they should let a sleeping dog lie ,bury the hatchets and chart a new course , after all in Nigeria we handover and take over , no bad blood, as a matter of fact something done in your back, my people say should not grieve you, that’s food for thought
