Recall that the federal government had on December 21 directed all schools to remain closed till January 18, as part of measures geared towards containing the covid-19 upsurge.

But while the commission called for strict compliance to covid-19 protocols when schools resume, it stated that in view of the directive ( of December 23, 2019) by the Office of Head of Federal Civil Service, “all federal civil servants from grade level 12 and below” should still stay at home until the five weeks’ elapse.

The expected resumption of tertiary education activities is coming after about 10 months of strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU).
