Update Your IPPIS Records Or Lose Your Pay, Oyo-Ita Warns Civil Servants

Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, has sent a strong warning to civil servants that are yet to update their Integrated Personnel and Pay Roll Information System (IPPIS) records.

Speaking on Wednesday, during a service wide sensitization workshop on the 2017-2020 Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP), Oyo-Ita said civil servants who are yet to update their records via the online portal have till Monday, May 28, to do so.

She said the deadline will no longer be extended, as there have been advertisements in the media for months, urging employees to update their records online.

The workshop, which was organized for Directorate level Officers (GL 15-17) in the Ministry and Extra-Ministerial Departments, was held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

She said: “In spite of several circulars and advertisements in the print, radio and Television requesting employees to update their records online, some employees are yet to update their IPPIS records via the on-line portal.

“The on-line records update is a key requirement for the implementation of the HR Module of IPPIS and must be completed by every employee of the Federal Government to maintain their records on the IPPIS platform.

“I wish to inform you that the portal will close officially today 23 May, 2018 but will be opened for corrections until Monday, 28 May, 2018 and those that are yet to update their records are advised to do so not later than date as failure to do so will lead to stoppage of the salary of the affected employee on IPPIS platform.

When asked what the fate of those who fail to update their IPPIS before next week’s deadline, the Head of Service said a later date may be fixed for them, but insisted that there will be no going back on the May 28 deadline.

“The IPPIS payroll has been extended for several months, we now have to draw a line as we can’t continue extending any longer, so on the 28th of May, we will draw a line and whoever has not updated his HR record online will be dropped from the payroll automatically,” she said.

“We will then do our verification, later on we will then work out a separate exercise for them (defaulters), but we cannot continue to extend the deadline.”
