US Election: Trump To Appeal Pennsylvania Court Judgement Dismissing His Allegations

The United States President, Donald Trump, on Sunday, stated that his lawyers will appeal Saturday’s court judgement which had dismissed his voter fraud allegations against the election in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.

President-elect Joe Biden was projected to have won the state, thereby securing for himself about 306 electoral college votes.

But Trump, through his counsel, Rudy Giuliani, had filed a suit at the Middle District Court of Pennsylvania, alleging that over 900,000 illegal votes were counted in Biden’s favour.

But the presiding judge, Matthew Brann, struck out the suit, adding that it lacked “compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption”.

In Trump’s Twitter reaction on Sunday, he said his counsel would appeal the verdict.

On his part, Giuliani, in a statement on Saturday, noted that the judge did not grant them fair hearing but appreciated the judgement for coming early.

He stressed that despite respective verdicts by lower courts, it was Trump’s ultimate plan to take his case to the apex court – the U.S I. Supreme Court.

He wrote : “Today’s decision turns out to help us in our strategy to get expeditiously to the U.S. Supreme Court. Although we fully disagree with this opinion, we’re thankful to the Obama-appointed judge for making this anticipated decision quickly, rather than simply trying to run out the clock.

“We will be seeking an expedited appeal to the Third Circuit. There is so much evidence that in Pennsylvania, Democrats eliminated our opportunity to present 50 witnesses and other evidence that election officials blatantly ignored Pennsylvania’s law denying independent review.

“This resulted in 682,777 ballots being cast illegally, wittingly or unwittingly. This is just an extension of the Big Tech, Big Media, Corrupt Democrat censorship of damning facts the American public needs to know.”

Meanwhile, Trump has been criticised (largely by Democrats) for refusing to concede defeat to Biden.

Also, a notable Republican party member, Mitt Romney, had alleged that the President was trying to overturn the election result so as to continue for a second term.

Furthermore, world leaders have already congratulated Biden for reportedly winning the November 3.
