US Poll: Pence, Harris Disagree On Covid-19 Pandemic At Debate

United States Vice President, Mike Pence, and Democratic Party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Kamala Harris, have disagreed over what is responsible for the high cases of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

They made their views known on Thursday, during the Vice Presidential Debate in Salt Lake City.

Asked why the US’ Covid-19 death toll was higher than any other wealthy country, Harris replied that it was due to the failure of the administration of President Donald Trump.

“The American people have witnessed what is the greatest failure of any presidential administration in the history of our country.

“And here are the facts:210,000 dead people in our country in just the last several months, over 7 million people have contracted this disease, one in five businesses closed.

“And here is the thing, the president and the Vice President were informed about the lethal nature of the virus and they knew what was happening and they didn’t tell you.

“This administration has forfeited their right to re-election”, she said.

But, Pence told Harris to stop playing politics with the pandemic.

He stressed that Trump took timely steps, which helped the country to reduce the death of millions of its people.

“The reality is we are going to have a vaccine in a record time, in less than a year.

“We have five companies in phase three clinical trials and we are producing tens of millions of doses.

“The fact is you continue to undermine public confidence on a vaccine.

“And senator, I just ask you, stop playing politics with people’s lives; the reality is that we will have a vaccine and we will save countless of American lives,” he said.
