Recall that former Vice-President, Joe Biden, had been nominated at the DNC to challenge the current US president during the forthcoming November 3 election.

Obama said that Trump should not be returned to the White House because, according to him, his leadership failure led to the loss of American lives amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Donald Trump hasn’t grown into the job, because he can’t; and the consequences of that failure are severe.

“170,000 Americans dead, millions of job gone; those at the top taking more than ever.

“More importantly, I’m asking you to believe in your own and to help them, in this election and beyond,” he tweeted.

In another development, Kamala Harris , was officially nominated to be Biden’s running mate.

“Trump’s failure of leadership has cost lives and livelihoods,” she stated.

Meanwhile, the Republican party slammed Obama for his rhetoric, claiming that it was his team that weakened America’s position around the world.
